2011/12/31The website is going to become a bit more colorful. In the next couple of days I am going to deal with the works of CyberphobX. Let's take a look at their first game first, that is already out of the line. Veteran Combat is not really new on Gregorius' corner since I have already talked about it, even if it was not called like this then. The game was published back in 2007 by a team called Alpha Tauri Interactive who later reduced to a one-man development studio, and under a new name, CyberphobX has re-published the game under a new title, Veteran Combat. You can even find a video of the game to get to know it better or to recall your memories if you have already met Cease Fire before.
2011/12/22I would like to draw your attention to a new hungarian development studio. CyberphobX has a quite large history despite being a new development studio. They have been producing several games already. I will talk about the products of this team working mainly for the german market in more detail later. I will also make sure that the links to the references of their works will be added to the Links section.
2011/12/15In the November issue of PC Guru we can read a short article about SkyDrift, the new game of Digital Reality. The one-page-long article is anything but detailed, although we should not expect details by all means about an arcade-style, airplane racing game. Afterall, the hungarian development reached a quite impressive 80% on the evaluation in the end.
2011/12/14On the 48th week of the year, Might and Magic: Heroes VI, the fantasy role-playing-game of Blackhole Entertainment had placed in the 14th position on the sales lists of Hungary in the multiplatform category. The game placed 10th in the PC category on the same week. Christmas shopping seems to have increased the sales numbers of the product relative to the foreign games. The hungarian market lagged the procurement of the domestic product until the Holidays.
2011/12/13Bad news have come from Digital Reality. The developers have announced that their newest successor-wannabe, Sine Mora will not be released for the PC platform after Microsoft had bought the exclusive publishing rights for itself. Hence the game will not be released for the Playstation or Nintendo platforms either. Only the XBox360 owners can wait for the game from now on. The slightest hope is maintained by the fact, that Microsoft is wishing to combine its XBox Live and Games for Windows web-stores. But in the meantime we will have to accept that we will not be playing Sine Mora on the PC.
2011/12/09Hardwired has announced a rare competition, to which you can submit your application by the 31st of March. These can be background images and playable maps to Might and Magic: Heroes VI. What makes this competition, that can be linked to Blackhole Entertainment, more exciting is that if you design your maps, submit them and win, you might even win the Steam code to Might and Magic: Heroes VI. This way you could even download the game from the Steam system that you could have designed your map legally with. Although the prize is kind of selfexplanatory in the given situation, the road to it might need some explanation.
2011/12/06On the 47th week of the year, Might and Magic: Heroes VI, the fantasy role-playing-game of Blackhole Entertainment had placed in the 18th position on the sales lists of Hungary in the multiplatform category. The game placed 13th in the PC category on the same week. The game continues to drop lower and lower on the lists unfortunately.
2011/12/05Digital Reality is working on a new game. Since Digital Reality has been melted into the Dolcler Holding empire it has combined its development function with publishing. Now the studio is acting in both scopes in one project. Digital Reality is dressing Bang Bang Racing into a visual dress of the standards of today. The game was developed for mobile platforms by Playbox originally. Now it will be brought to modern consoles as well as to the PC. Due to the announcement of the development, a debut trailer was also released.
2011/12/04Strolling around on Steam we might have smelled the marketing rocket of Blackhole Entertainment flying accross. The release of Might and Magic: Heroes VI via the Steam system is advertised on the front page. If you find online distribution more convenient than taking a walk for the boxed version, then you don't have to bother with the packaging now.
2011/12/03The downloadable contents were released for the PC version of SkyDrift as well. Digital Reality had a little problem distributing the game on Steam, hence it came a little late causing the fast release of both downloads already available for the console versions, the Gladiator Multiplayer Pack and the Extreme Fighters Premium Airplane Pack. The first one was introduced with a 2.99 Euros and the latter with a 1.99 Euros price.
2011/12/02On the 46th week of the year, Might and Magic: Heroes VI, the fantasy role-playing-game of Blackhole Entertainment had placed in the 15th position on the sales lists of Hungary in the multiplatform category. The game placed 11th in the PC category on the same week.
2011/12/01After long waiting, and a lot of hard working and negotiations I guess, SkyDrift is finally out on the PC platform as well. The delay was most probably caused by the longer- and harder-than-thought procedure of Digital Reality overcoming the obstacle of becoming an official partner of Steam. But the hard work has its fruits, since from now on we could find the games developed or distributed by Digital Reality on Steam as well. Celebrating the event, the 3rd episode of the SkyDrift developer's video diary was published. Unfortunately though, due to the electronic distribution the game cannot be placed under the tree.
2011/11/30It seems like the marketing machine of Might and Magic: Heroes VI by Blackhole Entertainment has fired the rockets. If you'd turn on the tap at Index.hu, the game would pour from it. Now you can also read about Might and Magic: Heroes VI on the virtual columns of the hungarian news portal. It gives a short historical overview of the franchise.
2011/11/29The release of King Arthur 2 is approaching. Its imminence is best shown by Neocore Games, the developers, releasing the first 2 episodes of the developer's video-diary at once. In the first episode Orsolya Tóth, the public relations manager of the studio and Linda Bozorádi, tester are presenting all the aspects the game became better than its predecessor. In the second video next to Orsolya, Péter Szabó, designer, and Viktor Juhász, writer role in presenting the contruction of the game's new world.
2011/11/28On the 45th week of the year, Might and Magic: Heroes VI, the fantasy role-playing-game of Blackhole Entertainment had placed in the 9th position on the sales lists of Hungary in the multiplatform category. The game placed 7th in the PC category on the same week.
2011/11/27Nemesys Games has released the demo version of Ignite. I would like to mention two things in the name of balanced information. The first one is, that the game's system requirements are fairly low so the game runs on lower performance configurations. The graphics can still be said to be nice. The other thing is that the camera views turn out to be really monotonous. In every each one of th them it is either the asphalt or the car itself that is in the way of clear view of the track ahead.
2011/11/26On the 44th week of the year, Might and Magic: Heroes VI, the fantasy role-playing-game of Blackhole Entertainment had placed in the 8th position on the sales lists of Hungary in the multiplatform category. The game placed 7th in the PC category on the same week.
2011/11/25An interview was released with András Klujber, the lead designer of Most Wanted Entertainment. The journalist of PC Dome asked his partner about the release of Defenders of Ardania. Naturally, during such a conversation there are always some words spoken about the past and future of the given development studio. We can find out for example, that Most Wanted Entertainment, currently working on hand-held consoles, is ready to make a long-term return to the PC platform depending on the success of Defenders of Ardania. It would be nice to know more about the release of the game on PC.
2011/11/24Fortunately there are things happening other than the ado about Might and Magic: Heroes VI. There is for example Ignite, the game who's development was started by Nemesys Games back in time, quite long ago. This development was written about on the columns of PC Dome. Don't let yourself be fooled by the opening thoughts of the article! As opposed to the rumors, Nemesys Games is not responsible only for Fortix and Fortix 2, they were also producing Road to Fame and Army Racer. But these latter games were published under the flag of 576 Media. But still, Ignite is not the first in its genre.
2011/11/23Let's continue with the Might and Magic: Heroes VI news dumping. GameKapocs has also written a long review about the development of Blackhole Entertainment. On the other hand it is more interesting to see the army of comments below, which are probably more frank, but look just as biased as the review. Sometimes on one side, sometimes on the other. But everyone seem to find something positive about the game.
